Some biopsies were performed multiple times on the same nodule during the study period ( n = 119) due to cytology report suggestions, indeterminate cytology, non-diagnostic cytology, nodule growth, or the appearance of new suspicious features. Effective Jan. 1, 2024, new CPT® codes were introduced to report fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies.
