If your bellhousing is for a 164-tooth flexplate you need a 164-tooth flexplate. If you put a 157-tooth flexplate into a 164-tooth bellhousing you won't find ANY starter that will engage the teeth on the ring gear. The flexplate MUST match the bellhousing.
